A busy 7 month year old!

We have one busy boy on our hands!  His first crawls were quickly followed by strong attempts to stand and walk.  He has been on the go...constantly!  Luke got to experience his first snow near Lake Arrowhead on his 7th month birthday.  What a treat!

Luke and I strolled down for my coffee fix the other morning and I was amazed at the leaves that had fallen in front of the library.  Maybe there are seasons in southern California!  Luke was amazed too.  He thought those leaves looked tasty.

He has now changed from an infant to a little boy right before our eyes.  He is so expressive (where did he get that from?)  and eager to be where the action is!  By the way, he has five teeth in and two more are working their way down!

Luke's First Half Birthday!

6 Months!  Wow!  This past month he has eaten part of a banana, rice cereal, and even tasted chocolate!  He has also been dedicated to our church, and discovered how to feed himself.  Our dear Luke has made us laugh in so many ways.  His smile responsiveness is amazing.  He has also made up is own bubble blowing language.  He is a smart one!

Oh...and still just one bottom tooth!?!

5 Months

We are happy to be at this stage.  He is sleeping about 11-12 hours at night and smiling more than ever!  His legs "ham hocks" and his deep dimple of a chin are hot topics for on-lookers!  Luke's hair is finally starting to come back.  Will it lay down or spike up like before? Who knows?

The Johnny Jumper is his favorite place to be.  He will dance and take steps as if he can walk.   He also enjoys grabbing the edge of the wall and will actually attempt to put it in his mouth!  Teething maybe?

We all went down to San Diego with friends for a wedding and stopped by Stone Brewery on the way home.  Luke experienced his first rain shower here under the umbrella!  We had so much fun!!

Tummy time gets frustrating for him.  He really wants to crawl around but not just yet.  I think he has more upper body strength than lower!

4 months

This has been a great summer.  Just a few more weeks of it and we are doing our best to enjoy each and every second.

Luke is doing great.  It was hard to capture pictures of him on his back.  He immediately rolls over on his belly now.  Long are the days of stepping away from the changing table!

San Clemente

Our first family vacation was amazing!  It started off with a huge shock.  My friend, Lauren, was at my door.  She was in town from Nashville and here to meet Luke and have a vacation of her own at Catalina.  The beach house was so great and so was Luke.  He slept in the stroller as we all four had an amazing dinner.   I am so sad we never got a picture together!

Luke squealed like a girl when his toes hit the water.  IT WAS SO COLD!  We enjoyed the beach so much that I actually got sick of sunscreen and sand!  Mariah and Liz came down one night so that we could have a date night.  It was great getting out but we also missed being with Luke.

While on the beach we admired the little kids running in the water.  We realized we have it pretty good now.  We can actually nap and relax at the same time.  This may never happen again!  Fun times!!

3 Months

Well he seems like he is becoming more of a baby and less of an infant.  I love watching him grow and have been enjoying every stage so far.   Luke's most recent fad has been putting his hands in his mouth.  He loves his hands.   His daddy has been supplementing with that ugly Tennessee rattle and I try to replace it with Sophie the giraffe!

This is one alert boy that loves to know who and what are in his perimeter.  When I bring him into a new room he fully checks everything out first.  He is so cute.  I think we will keep him!

Luke...meet Ellie!

We had an amazing trip to Fayetteville, Arkansas to meet cousin Ellie.  What a beauty if I do say so myself.  We flew in Thursday night.  Luke loved checking out everyone on the plane.  He did so well, hardly even fussed.  The fussing did start once we got him in his favorite place...the car seat!

Once we got to Micah's house, Yoda and Howdy drove up.  Yoda was in heaven.  Her smile explains it all.  They were both awake for their first greeting.

The next day was packed with fun.  Including the car!  Somehow, we all fit.  We went to eat lunch, visited museums, and ended our day on Beaver Lake.

The real fun started when we had our very own photo session!  Yoda got them two matching outfits.  We had a challenge getting them both happy for it.  I think we did pretty well.  Check out the pictures below.  You can see some of their best and worst moments.

Yes, we had a wardrobe change!  Luke looks like he had too much at the tailgate!  True rebels they are! Ellie posed very well for this one.  Luke finally lives up to his initials, LOL!
